Friendship Aspire Academy, a new public charter school, will host a meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Business Support Incubator, 615 S. Main St.
The school is scheduled to open in Pine Bluff this fall, according to the education department.
The meeting will feature keynote speakers Donald L. Hense, chairman and founder of Friendship Public Charter School; Patricia A. Brantley, chief executive officer of the school; and Jeffrey Grant, lead administrator of the academy.
The Arkansas Department of Education’s Charter Authorizing Panel approved the charter school application for Friendship Aspire in August 2017. The school received approval from the State Board of Education in September 2017, according to the education department.
