Members of the clergy who would like to improve their knowledge about handguns and their safety will get the opportunity later this month.
Last Resort Firearms Training of White Hall will be offering a free, two-hour class at their training facility north of White Hall of Feb. 23 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The session will be entirely classroom, and will cover topics such as handgun safety, ammunition, handgun types and features and marksmanship, as well as questions from participants.
“We’ve done this training for a variety of groups like teachers and politicians in the past,” said Ed Monk of Last Resort Firearms Training. “We were talking to several pastors who said they didn’t know much about handguns and would like to know more which is why we decided to do this class. We thought if they wanted to know more about guns, there were probably other ministers who would want to too.”
Monk said the company averages about one free presentation each month, and has presented the training at White Hall High School, to groups in Little Rock, and will be offering the class to the Chamber of Commerce in the next couple of months.
Seating for the class is limited and anyone wishing to attend should contact Monk at 870-273-1113 or by e-mail at edmonk@aol.com
