The Arkansas Department of Health regulates the sale of food at establishments that include restaurants, bars, day cares, schools, grocery stores, convenience stores, bed and breakfast facilities, hotels/motels, mobile units and concession stands. Inspections are made unannounced by environmental health specialists.

JEFFERSON JAVA-JRMC COFFEE SHOP, 1600 W. 40th Ave. Date of inspection Aug. 28. Milk (46 degrees F) and heavy cream (44 degrees F) in the prep refrigerator are out of safe temperature range. Time/Temperature Control for Safety (TCS) Foods shall be kept cold at a temperature of 41.0°F or below, as measured by an internal probe thermometer, to limit bacterial growth.

TAQUERIA MARTIN, mobile, 2102 N. Bryant St., White Hall. Date of follow-up inspection Aug. 29. Pickles (55 degrees F) and mayonnaise (53 degrees F) in the small, black prep cooler are out of safe temperature range. Time/Temperature Control for Safety (TCS) Foods shall be kept cold at a temperature of 41.0 degrees F or below, as measured by an internal probe thermometer, to limit bacterial growth.

TAQUERIA MARTIN, mobile, 2102 N. Bryant St., White Hall. Date of inspection Aug. 27. Observed fish being stored above vegetables in the prep cooler. Separate raw animal foods during storage, preparation, holding, and display from ready-to-eat food. Sour cream and cut onions (42 degrees F) and fish (44 degrees F) in the prep coolers are out of safe temperature range. Time/Temperature Control for Safety (TCS) Foods shall be kept cold at a temperature of 41.0 degrees F or below, as measured by an internal probe thermometer, to limit bacterial growth.

TACO BELL, 8011 Sheridan Road, White Hall. Date of inspection Sept. 3. No soap provided at the hand washing sink in the men’s restroom. Provide an adequate supply of hand cleanser (liquid, powder or bar) at each handwashing sink. Soap provided at the hand washing sink in the men’s restroom during the inspection. Observed trash cans containing food residue being stored uncovered when not in continuous use. Trash cans containing food residue should be covered when not in continuous use. Observed some residue on the floor by the soda storage shelf in the dry storage area. Clean the physical facilities as often as necessary to keep them clean.
