The Arkansas Department of Health regulates the sale of food at establishments that include restaurants, bars, day cares, schools, grocery stores, convenience stores, bed and breakfast facilities, hotels/motels, mobile units and concession stands. Inspections are made unannounced by environmental health specialists.

ELIOR NORTH AMERICA @ SOUTHWOOD ELEMENTARY, 4200 S. Fir St. Date of inspection Sept. 15. Observed a leak on the nozzle of the third compartment in the three compartment sink and on the pipes under the vegetable wash sink. The sink faucet and pipes should be repaired so that it does not leak.
ELIOR NORTH AMERICA @ 34th ELEMENTARY, 801 E. 34th Ave. Date of inspection Sept. 15. Observed trash can containing food residue being stored uncovered when not in continuous use. Trash cans containing food residue should be covered when not in continuous use.

ELIOR NORTH AMERICA @ BROADMOOR ELEMENTARY, 1106 S. Wisconsin St. Date of inspection Sept. 16. Observed drink with no lid and straw. A closed BEVERAGE container if the container shall be handled to prevent contamination of: (1) The EMPLOYEE’S hands; (2) The container; and (3) Exposed FOOD; clean EQUIPMENT, UTENSILS, and LINENS; and unwrapped SINGLE-SERVICE and SINGLE-USE ARTICLES. Drink was discarded during time of inspection.
UNDERGROUND BACKYARD BBQ LLC Address: 111 W. Eighth Ave. Date of inspection Sept. 17. Observed raw chicken being stored above raw beef in the cooler. Separate types of raw animal foods during storage preparation and display by using separate equipment for each type, arranging each type so that cross of each type is prevented and preparing each type at different time or in separate areas. Raw chicken was moved to the bottom of the cooler during the inspection. Vent hood is not being used — suppression system has been taken out and gas near cooking equipment under the vent hood has been shut off. Only smokers outside that are in the screened in area should be used.
FRIENDSHIP ASPIRE ACADEMY SE CAMPUS (concession), 1501 W. 73rd Ave. Date of inspection Sept. 17. No hot water observed throughout the concession stand sinks. The water source and system shall be of sufficient capacity to meet the peak water demands of the RETAIL FOOD ESTABLISHMENT. Observed residue on the floors throughout the concession stand. Clean the physical facilities as often as necessary to keep them clean.
FRIENDSHIP ASPIRE ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOL–SOUTHEAST, 1501 W. 73rd Ave. Date of inspection Sept. 17. Observed a trash can containing food residue being stored uncovered when not in continuous use. Trash cans containing food residue should be kept covered when not in continuous use.
ELIOR NORTH AMERICA @ FORREST PARK, 2501 W. 10th Ave. Date of inspection Sept. 17. Observed boxes of bananas being stored on the floor in the kitchen. Food shall be protected from contamination by storing in a clean dry location where it is not exposed to splash, dust, or other contamination and at least 6 inches above the floor. Boxes of bananas were moved on a crate during the inspection.
