BURGER KING, 7820 Sheridan Road, White Hall. Date of inspection July 11. Observed an employee using the same gloves with raw meat and then getting papers ready to make a sandwich. Food employees shall clean their hands when switching between working with raw food and ready-to-eat foods. Inspector spoke with the employee about making sure he washed his hands and changed his gloves between touching raw and ready to eat foods. He changed his gloves during the inspection. Inspector also spoke with the manager about it for training purposes. Observed trash cans containing food residue being stored uncovered when not in continuous use. Trash cans containing food residue should be kept covered when not in continuous use.
TOWN PLACE SUITES-WHITE HALL, 8531 Sheridan Road, White Hall. Date of inspection July 14. At least one EMPLOYEE that has supervisory and management responsibility and the authority to direct and control FOOD preparation and service shall be a certified FOOD protection manager who has shown proficiency of required information through passing a test that is part of an ACCREDITED PROGRAM. Observed trash cans containing food residue being stored uncovered when not in continuous use. Trash cans containing food residue should be kept covered when not in continuous use. The small refrigerator in the breakfast area was not currently holding any food in it but the ambient temperature on the provided thermometer was reading 62 degrees F. A sheet of ice was noted built up in the back of the refrigerator. The refrigerator was unplugged during the inspection to defrost before being plugged in again. The refrigerator should not be used until it can maintain the internal food temperature at 41 degrees F or below.

Baking pan was removed during time of inspection. Observation: Observed turkey (44 degrees) in cold hold not holding temperature. BEST WESTERN PRES HOTEL, Highway 65 and Market St. Date of inspection July 14. At least one EMPLOYEE that has supervisory and management responsibility and the authority to direct and control FOOD preparation and service shall be a certified FOOD protection manager who has shown proficiency of required information through passing a test that is part of an ACCREDITED PROGRAM. Observed no paper towels at hand washing sink. Provide a supply of individual disposable towels or a continuous towel system that supplies the user with a clean towel or a heated-air drying device at each handwashing sink in food preparation, toilet and warewashing areas. Corrected on site. Observation: Observed food residue on counter top. Corrective Action: Nonfood contact surfaces shall be kept free of an accumulation of dust, dirt, food residue, and other debris.
PIZZA HUT, 2711 S. Hazel St., Ste B. Date of inspection July 15. Observed trash cans containing food residue being stored uncovered when not in continuous use. Trash cans containing food residue should be kept covered when not in continuous use. Floors in the ware washing area and the back dry storage area are unclean. Clean the physical facilities as often as necessary to keep them clean.
HAZEL GAS STOP, 2801 S. Hazel St. Date of inspection July 15. Observed containers of white substance not labeled. Food not in the original packages for use in Establishment must be identified with the common name of the food. Container was labeled with “sugar” during the inspection. Observed single service cups in the drink dispensing area being stored unprotected. Must be stored in original package and in a manner that prevents contamination. The restroom door is not self closing. A toilet room located on the PREMISES shall be completely enclosed and provided with a tight-fitting and self-closing door.
UNITED FOOD MART DOLLARWAY ROAD, 5320 Dollarway Road. Date of inspection July 16. Three compartment sink not noted in establishment. Three compartment sink needed to manually wash dishes. Observed a trash can near the drink station that contains food residue that is being stored uncovered when not in continuous use. Trash cans containing food residue should be kept covered when not in continuous use. Some ceiling tiles throughout the store are damaged and need to be repaired or replaced.
EXXON ONE STOP, 2901 W. 28th Ave. Date of inspection July 16. Observed bags of ice that were packaged in the store not properly labeled with store information on them. Food packaged in Retail Food Establishment, shall be labeled as specified in law. Observed single use cups and straws being stored opened and outside of the original package. Single use cups and straws must be stored in original package and in a manner that prevents contamination. Observed oil on the floor where a fryer used to be in the kitchen. Clean the physical facilities as often as necessary to keep them clean. No food is being cooked at the establishment.
CARTERS GRAB-N-GO, 2500 W. 26th Ave. Date of opening inspection July 16. No violations reported.
SUPER 8, 3008 Market St. Date of inspection July 17. Observed opened coffee stirrers in self serve area being stored in an open cup. Must be stored in original package and in a manner that prevents contamination.
SR QUICK MART INC., 5001 Dollarway Road. Date of inspection July 17. At least one EMPLOYEE that has supervisory and management responsibility and the authority to direct and control FOOD preparation and service shall be a certified FOOD protection manager who has shown proficiency of required information through passing a test that is part of an ACCREDITED PROGRAM. Observation: Current health permit is expired. Corrective Action: It is unlawful to operate a retail food establishment without a valid permit. Contact the billing office at 501-661-2171 to ensure that you are in compliance with the law.
MOTEL 6, 3103 Market St. Date of inspection July 17. Observed coffee straws being stored uncovered in a cup by the coffee station. Single service items must be stored in original package or in a manner that prevents contamination. Only coffee is served at this establishment.
