Inspections are made unannounced by environmental health specialists.

At least one EMPLOYEE that has supervisory and management responsibility and the authority to direct and control FOOD preparation and service shall be a certified FOOD protection manager who has shown proficiency of required information through passing a test that is part of an ACCREDITED PROGRAM. Observed bulk container not labeled. Bulk FOOD that is available for CONSUMER self-dispensing shall be prominently labeled with the information in plain view of the CONSUMER by using (1) The manufacturer’s or processor’s label that was provided with the FOOD; or (2) A card, sign, or other method of notification that includes the appropriate information.

J-MART STORE, 13800 Dollarway Road, White Hall. Date of inspection Nov. 17, 2023. No cooking observed in establishment during the time of the inspection. Observed a broken window at the front of the store. All outer openings of a food establishment should be protected against the entry of insects and rodents. Ice machine interior damaged and needs to be repaired. No hot water available in the restroom. The water source and system shall be of sufficient capacity to meet the peak water demands of the RETAIL FOOD ESTABLISHMENT. Some ceiling tiles throughout the establishment are damaged or missing. The PHYSICAL FACILITIES shall be maintained in good repair. Some flooring is damaged in kitchen area. The PHYSICAL FACILITIES shall be maintained in good repair. Observed several pieces of unused equipment in the kitchen area. The PREMISES shall be free of items that are unnecessary to the operation or maintenance of the establishment such as EQUIPMENT that is nonfunctional or no longer used and litter.

Observation: Receptacles containing food residue must be kept covered when not in continuous use.
SUPER 1 FOODS, 5805 Dollarway Road. Date of inspection Dec. 20. Observed hand washing sink blocked. A handwashing sink shall be maintained so that it is accessible at all times for employee use, and do not use for purposes other than handwashing. Observation: Observed a build of food debris on equipment. Corrective Action: The food contact surfaces of cooking equipment and pans shall be kept free of encrusted grease deposits and other soil accumulations.
