The Arkansas Department of Health regulates the sale of food at establishments which include restaurants, bars, daycares, schools, grocery stores, convenience stores, bed and breakfast facilities, hotels/motels, mobile units and concession stands. Inspections are made unannounced by environmental health specialists.
The following are the results of food safety inspections conducted in the White Hall area by the Jefferson County Health Unit:
• Gandy Elementary School, 4600 Gandy Ave., White Hall. Date of inspection Aug. 29. Walk-in freezer door threshold needs repairing.
• Taylor Elementary School, 805 West St., White Hall. Date of inspection Aug. 29. Sanitizer strength (in three-compartment sink) chlorine 100 ppm. Automatic dishwasher not working properly – causing leaks through wall to dry storage floor.
