Messiah in The Passover, a presentation showing how Jesus fulfilled the ancient feast of Passover, will be held at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, April 2, at First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Sixth Ave.
The session will be conducted by the Rev. Jim Fox. First United invites the Christian and the Jewish community to attend.
The service will begin with the traditional Passover Seder table with all the articles of the Jewish celebration.
“The speaker will explain the symbolic meanings of the items of the Passover feast and highlight their relationship to the Last Supper that Messiah celebrated with the disciples, giving special emphasis on the redemptive significance of the crucifixion,” according to a spokesman.
“Messiah in The Passover gives the Christian community insight into Jewish traditions so that the Jewish roots of Christianity can be better understood. This program also helps the Jewish and Christian communities understand their common heritage,” a spokesman said.
The service is free and open to the public. Details: First United Methodist Church, 535-0935.
