Arkansas First Lady Susan Hutchinson will host the annual First Lady’s Tea at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion at Little Rock from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, May 5.
“The event being held on Cinco de Mayo (May 5) will celebrate spring in fiesta style with an explosion of colorful, themed decorations as well as a buffet of delicious sweet and savory foods,” according to a news release. “Ladies of all ages are invited to attend the annual tea which traditionally hosts several hundred guests wearing their favorite hats and gloves.”
Miss Arkansas 2018, Claudia Raffo, will make an appearance and there will be rides in a horse-drawn “princess” carriage.
“This is the perfect opportunity to get together with sisters, daughters, girlfriends and others to enjoy a fun afternoon at the Governor’s Mansion,” Hutchinson said. “The horse drawn carriage rides were a big hit last year, and of course I’m delighted that Miss Arkansas will be with us.”
Tickets are $50 for adults, $35 for children (ages 10 and under), and can be purchased at www.friendsofthemansion.org. All proceeds benefit the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion Association, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that raises funds for the restoration and preservation of the Governor’s Mansion.
