Jefferson County fired up for fireworks
LaJoyce Banks sells the latest fireworks from her family's stand, ACJ Fireworks, across from Townsend Park on North Birch Street in Pine Bluff. The family, including Banks and her two sisters, have served the Northside with a wide range of pyrotechnic products ahead of Independence Day for the last 36 years. Tonight, Pine Bluff and White Hall are celebrating the holiday with fireworks displays for the community. In Pine Bluff, a celebration hosted by the Pine Bluff Festival Association will begin at 8 p.m. at the Regional Park softball complex, with parking available there, at Saracen Landing and in front of the Jefferson County Courthouse. The Pine Bluff Commercial will livestream the fireworks, set to begin at 9 p.m., on its Facebook page. In White Hall, the Alva Domon Fireworks Show sponsored by the White Hall Police Officer Association can be seen from the White Hall Community Center parking lot. The display will begin at dark, with the National Anthem leading off the show. (Pine Bluff Commercial/I.C. Murrell)
