The Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Department responded to just over 300 more calls in 2014 than they did for the previous year, according to their 2014 Calls for Service Report, which was released this week.
The report showed that there were 4,732 calls last year or an average of 13 per day, compared to 4,428 in 2013, or an average of 12.25 per day.
As has been the case for several years, emergency medical calls accounted for more than half of the total. Last year, the department responded to 2,559 EMS calls, 54.08 percent of all the calls received.
They also responded to a total of 207 motor vehicle accidents with injuries, which was another 4.07 percent of the total calls.
In 2013 they answered 2,584 emergency medical calls, or 58.36 percent of all the calls received, and 239 motor vehicle accidents, or 5.40 percent of the total calls.

According to the calls for service report, 134 structure fires were reported last year, the same number as in 2013. Vehicle fires decreased from 80 in 2013 to 76 last year, while brush/grass/rubbish fires increased from 154 in 2013 to 221 last year.
There were 285 fire alarms that firefighters responded to last year, seven less than in 2013, while false calls showed a significant increase, going from 93 in 2013 to 330 last year.
The department also submitted its monthly report for December, which showed 10 structure fires, two each in Wards 1 and 3 and three each in Wards 2 and 4. There were five vehicle fires reported in December and 22 brush/grass/rubbish fires.
Firefighters answered 235 emergency medical calls last month and responded to 18 vehicle accidents with injuries.
