The Watson Chapel Fire Department and the Arkansas Forestry Commission battled a wildfire northwest of Pine Bluff Monday afternoon.
The fire, located near the Cordova Drive/Petty Road area, broke out shortly after noon Monday and was still burning but under control at press time Monday, according to scanner traffic. Officials said no structures were threatened, and there were no injuries reported. Scanner traffic indicated that forestry commission workers were using bulldozers to help contain the blaze.
