WYNNE — Pine Bluff led by as many as 17 points but held on to beat Forrest City 59-56 Tuesday in the first round of a tournament here.
Pine Bluff (7-4) will play the Greene County Tech/Bald Knob winner at 4 p.m. today.
Victoria Broady led the winning Fillies with 18 points and hit some key free throws late to help Pine Bluff stave off a late comeback by the Mustangs. Ajia Richardson added 16 points for Pine Bluff.
The Fillies led most of the game.

MOUNTAIN HOME — In a meeting of two state championship teams from last season, the 5A Lady Wildcats were edged by the 7A Lady Bulldogs in the Ultimate Ford/1st Arkansas Bail Bonds Tournament.
Both teams struggled to shoot the ball well. Watson Chapel rebounded a missed bonus shot by Fayetteville with 7 seconds left but could not get off a shot before the buzzer. Now, the Lady Wildcats (5-5) will take on either Sheridan or Mountain Home at 2:30 p.m. today.
Kamera Bozeman scored seven points and Leonicia Hart had six to lead Chapel.
