The residents of Farmington can make their reservations for Hot Springs after the Lady Cardinals beat Pulaski Academy 49-46 Saturday at the Pine Bluff Convention Center in the 4A girls basketball semifinal game.
Farmington (26-7) was in control for all but 8 minutes, which was essentially the second quarter. The Lady Cards were down 25-22 going into halftime, but a 7-0 run right out of the break gave Farmington the lead back for good.
Pulaski Academy trimmed it down to a one-possession game at 45-42 with 50 seconds left. Each team traded free throws and Tiffany Rhame missed a couple of free throws to give the Lady Bruins a chance to tie the game with a three-pointer, which was missed. Mackenzie Kuhn got the offensive rebound and hit the short jumper.
Rhame was fouled again and drained a couple of free throws for another three-point lead. Jordan Hughes took a three-pointer with 5 seconds left for Pulaski Academy, but the shot hit iron and Farmington grabbed the rebound to seal the win for the Lady Cards.
Rhame led Farmington with 10 points and Harris scored 18 for PA.
