Farm Bureau names 3 safety poster contest winners

Students from Southeast Arkansas were among winners of the annual safety poster contest sponsored by Arkansas Farm Bureau, according to a press release

• Mackie Hearn, a second-grade student at DeWitt Elementary School in Arkansas County, won first place in the first and second-grade category. Mackie is the daughter of Tiffanie Hearn.

• Tyrel Harris, a second-grade student at Fordyce Elementary School in Dallas County, won second place in the first and second-grade category. Tyrel is the son of Tyrel and Arnell Harris.

• Kayla Warner, a sixth grader at Fordyce Elementary School, won third place in the fifth and sixth-grade category. Kayla is the daughter of Dorothy Sledge.

The contest was designed to increase awareness of potential hazards on farms and ranches. There are three categories in the statewide competition with cash prizes of $100, $75 and $50 being awarded to the top three winners in each category, according to the press release.
