Extension Service slates pesticide applicator training

The Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service, 500 Idaho St., will conduct a pesticide applicator training from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 14.

This training is for people who need to be certified or re-certified. Those who received a letter from the Arkansas State Plant Board notifying them that they need to be re-certified, must do so before a new private applicator license can be issued to them. They must also have a private applicator license to purchase restricted use chemicals or pesticides.

This session is $10 per person and checks should be made to the Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service. The Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service offers its programs to all eligible persons without discrimination. Persons with disabilities who require alternative means for communication of program information, should notify the county Extension office as soon as possible prior to the activity.

To register or for details, contact Anthony Whittington, county extension agent, 534-1033, or awhittington@uaex.edu .
