The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, part of the ARTx3 Campus, will present “This Is Us,” an exhibition featuring artwork by Pine Bluff High School students, from March 19 through May 9 in the International Paper Gallery at ASC, 701 S. Main St.
The show opens with a free public reception from 5-7 p.m. March 19, according to a news release.
Taught by Pine Bluff High School art teacher Shalisha Thomas, the exhibition features a collection of student-created portraits exploring identity, connection and influence.
“This Is Us” invites viewers into the personal perspectives of young artists as they depict themselves, loved ones and individuals who have shaped their lives. Each portrait reflects the artist’s individual style and creative choices while contributing to a larger conversation about community and shared experience, according to the release.
“This is us. Our artistic style. Our identity. Our community.”
Independent reporting for Pine Bluff & Jefferson County since 1879.
Together, the portraits celebrate the diverse voices of Pine Bluff High School students and the connections that unite them.
Admission is free and open to the public. Visitor hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Details: Matthew Howard, gallery and visitor specialist, at mhoward@artx3.org or (870) 536-3375.
