Eternal Grace ministries to give prom dresses to disadvantaged students

A Pine Bluff non-profit, Eternal Grace Out-reach Ministries, will once again give away prom dresses to disadvantaged students.

“In order for this annual event to be successful, donations of prom dresses, makeup, jewelry and even male attire is needed,” the Rev. Tonya Boyce, president and chief executive officer of Eternal Grace Ministries, said in a news release.

Eternal Grace is a non-profit organization that serves children and adults. In 2015, the ministry began accepting donations of prom attire in an annual dress drive.

Regina VonTungeln is an Eternal Grace community partner and serves as one of the donation chairmen for collecting prom attire.

“The Eternal Grace’s Prom Dress Giveaway began in 2015 as a Girl Scout project to provide prom dresses to teenage girls whose families were financially challenged,” Boyce said.

The ministry is grateful for the generous support of past supporters, according to Boyce.

“We served many girls during the prom dress giveaway the first year, thanks to Minister Larry Kirklin, and believe we will see many more girls during our 2018 giveaway events in March and April or by appointments,” she said.

Dresses are subject to availability.

“Girls will have an opportunity to wear beautiful dresses to their prom this year, thanks to Eternal Grace Out-reach Ministries,” according to the release.
