EQIP, forestry production session set Nov. 9

Environmental Quality Incentive Program practices, farm loans and the profit potential of well-managed forestland will be topics of a meeting from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Chamber of Commerce at Eudora.

According to a press release from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff School of Agriculture, Fisheries and Human Sciences, presenters will include Joe Friend, UAPB forester.

Friend will discuss the profit potential of well-managed forestland and EQIP practices that producers can use to better manage their forestland.

Nolan Beck, district conservationist, Natural Resources Conservation Service, will cover EQIP, which provides financial assistance to help producers install conservation or land improvement conservation practices on their farms and ranches.

Jason Rawls, Farm Service Agency loan officer, will discuss loans for operating expenses, livestock, equipment or land.

The Arkansas Cooperative Extension Program offers its programs to all eligible persons without discrimination.
