Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Economic Opportunities Commission, 1201 W. Pullen St., will begin its winter crisis utility assistance program at 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 26.
The winter portion of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) will assist with gas, electric and propane bills, according to a news release.
EOC will open the program in Jefferson, Grant, Cleveland, Arkansas and Lincoln counties. They will accept applications from 8-11:30 a.m. Monday through Wednesday.
Applicants for LIHEAP assistance must meet income guidelines. For a household of one, monthly countable income is $1,595. For each additional person in the household, add $491.
To apply for assistance, the applicant should bring a copy of the gas and electric bills, Social Security numbers, driver’s license or ID, proof of the previous month income and dates of birth for all household members.
