The Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Economic Opportunities Commission will hand out U.S. Department of Agriculture commodities starting at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, March 30, at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.
Food will be distributed while supplies last, according to a news release. To apply for assistance, applicants must bring a picture ID and Social Security numbers and birth dates for all household members. If picking up food for someone else, they should bring a note from that person with the Social Security number and name of the person picking it up.
Applicants must meet income eligibility which may be determined by meeting one of the following criteria: the household participates in the food stamp program or meets the financial eligibility criteria requirements which compare the household size and income to the state income guidelines of 130 percent of the poverty level. For a household of one, the monthly countable income limit is $1,179. For each additional person in the household, add $414.
