The Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Economic Opportunities Commission will begin taking applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program at a resource fair.
The resource fair will begin at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at the Pine Bluff’s Convention Center. Residents can apply for help to pay energy and heating bills. They may also visit various vendors at the fair.
“We encourage all interested in applying for energy assistance to come out,” a spokesman said in a news release. “With our office space limited, we can’t give thanks enough to the convention center and its staff for being such a huge partner in the success of our community.”
To apply for LIHEAP, all applicants must provide a photo ID, information about the previous month’s income and a copy of their gas and electric bill (regardless of which bill needs to be paid.)
Although the resource fair is only Jan. 9, EOC will continue to accept LIHEAP applications at their office, 1201 W. Pullen St. Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served walk-in basis from 8 a.m. until noon Monday through Wednesday.
