HOT SPRINGS — Twins Jameka and Janeka Watkins combined to hit 9 of 10 free throws in the final 64 seconds, helping England beat East Poinsett County 62-58 for its second straight 2A girls basketball state championship Thursday.
Janeka Watkins finished with 34 points, hitting 11 of 23 from the floor and 8 of 14 free throws. Jameka Watkins was cold from the floor (2 for 10), but converted 9 of 10 free throws and finished with 14 points for the Lady Lions (31-5).
Alicia Ross led EPC (26-9) with 18 points.
5A GIRLS
Greenwood 52, Paragould 37

The Lady Bulldogs (27-4) dominated the Lady Rams (26-5) the entire game, but both teams shot well from the floor. Paragould hit 50 percent of its shots, slightly better than Greenwood’s 48.7 percent.
Greenwood’s Megan Hartness and Paragould’s Sydney Layrock each scored a game-high 16 points. Paragould beat Monticello in Saturday’s semifinal game.
2A BOYS
East Poinsett County 60, Junction City 54
Jammar Sturdivant finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds, A.J. Turner had 14 points and 15 boards, and EPC (30-2) won its second straight championship.
Dorian Evans led Junction City (24-7) with 18 points.
3A BOYS
Earle 75, Charleston 57
Four Earle starters, led by Autry Allen’s 20 points, scored in double figures in leading the Bulldogs to their third state championship in five seasons.
Robbie Raggio finished with 15 points and Jesse Crosswhite had 14 points and 10 rebounds for Charleston (32-2).
