Emergency medical calls accounted for more than 54 percent of all the calls that the Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Department responded to in September, according to the monthly report released Monday.
The report showed that there were 234 EMS calls last month, 12 more than were reported in August, and one more than in September 2014.
For the month, firefighters answered 409 calls, 24 more than in August, and 19 fewer than in September 2014, when a total of 428 calls were reported.
There were 13 structure fires in September, three each in Wards 1, 2 and 4. Four structure fires were reported in Ward 3.
Also in September, six vehicle fires were reported, and 30 brush/grass/rubbish fires. By comparison, two vehicle fires were reported in August, and 25 brush/grass/rubbish fires.

The report showed that firefighters responded to 25 vehicle accidents with injuries in September, answered 27 alarm calls and received another 58 alarms that were determined to be false.
Another 58 calls in September were classified as other, according to the report.
The monthly fire prevention report showed department personnel investigated five fires in September, all of them structures. Of the five, the cause of one was listed as accidental, two others as undetermined and the remaining two as arson.
Department personnel installed eight smoke alarms and issued 22 burn permits in September.
