The Ellis-Wade Scholarship for Young Men is available to graduating high school seniors of Pine Bluff. The scholarship is for $1,000.
The applications are available until Saturday, April 15. Applicants should be scheduled to begin attending a college or university in the fall of 2017.
According to a press release from Dedrick Sims, founder/chief executive officer of the Sims-Fayola Foundation, the scholarship honors the late Brenda Diane Ellis, Sims’ mother, and Betty Wade, his grandmother.
The two women embody strength, grit, resilience and determination that inspires Sims as he leads the foundation, he said.
