The deadline for applying for an Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality electronic waste grant is Tuesday, Sept. 1. ADEQ anticipates announcing the grant recipients by the end of this year.
ADEQ expects about $200,000 in grant funds to be available this year. The e-waste grants program, established by state law, provides funding each year to eligible entities to assist in the proper recycling or disposal of electronic wastes in Arkansas. The program is funded through the sales of surplus used computers and other equipment from state agencies.
E-waste grant guidelines and application forms are available at https://www.adeq.state.ar.us/poa/recycling/financial/pdfs/e-waste_grants_guidelines-application.pdf or by contacting Robert Hunter, manager of the recycling branch in the ADEQ Public Outreach and Assistance Division, at 501-682-0609; hunter@adeq.state.ar.us
