Election commissioners set meetings

The Jefferson County Board of Election Commissioners will meet beginning at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, to conduct the Democrat and Republican preferential primary, nonpartisan judicial, White Hall and DeWitt school elections. Polling sites will be open 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The meeting shall remain in session until unofficial results are announced. Commissioners will be traveling throughout the county until approximately 7 p.m. Then they will be at the election center, 123 S. Main St.

The election commissioners will hold the regular meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at the election center. The agenda item includes approval of minutes of the May 7 meeting, public comment on new business agenda items (two minutes per speaker), adjudication of any questionable absentee ballots and any provisional ballots, review of any election problems and complaints and acknowledgement of the general election write-in candidate.
