The August meeting of the DuBocage Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association was held recently at the Pine Bluff Country Club with a Southern style dinner. The invocation was led by Suzanne Archer and Dewanna Rogers led the Pledge of Allegiance.
During the business meeting, led by President Allison Yaney, Christy Bush was named hospitality chairwoman and scrapbook chairwoman. Karen Cash was named the birthday chairwoman for September. Each member is to bring a birthday gift valued between $10 and $15 to exchange during the birthday party.
Ways and Means Chairman Mary Baxter reported that the price of the pecans the chapter sells can be held at $10 a pound. Anyone who would like to pre-order pecans can call any DuBocage member or 534-1919. She also established October, January and April as the months she would have a White Elephant table during the meeting.
The Dollar Pot was won by the chapter. Patsy Stone, Ella Dodson and Diane Wilson won the door prizes. The birthday gifts were won by Heather Edwards, Judy Conn and Glenda Dean. The benediction was led by Karen Cash.
