HOPE Community Coalition in collaboration with House of Lev Inc. will host a drug awareness event at 5 p.m. Sunday at
the Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson County at 2701 Short Reeker St. The event will be held in conjunction with National Drug Facts Week, which began Monday and will continue through Sunday.
Children in attendance will engage in sharing from the booklet Drugs, Shatter the Myth, which highlights the myths about drug use. They will also watch Super Bowl commercials and then discuss how and why advertisements can influence purchasing decisions.
National Drug Facts Week is sponsored by the National Institute of Drug Abuse at the National Institute of Health.
