Utility workers were busy Wednesday replacing a utility pole that had succumbed to the strong winds on Tuesday and Wednesday. The pole is located in front of Dr. Kim Kosmitis’ dentist office on 42nd Avenue. A person at the office said the pole was leaning away from the building on Tuesday and was braced by workers but that the brace broke and the pole began leaning toward the building on Wednesday. The National Weather Service said widespread winds reached 40 to 50 mph with gusts to 60 mph over the past 24 hours. (Pine Bluff Commercial/Byron Tate)
