Doctor’s Orders Pharmacy, 2302 W. 28th Ave., and Region 12 Prevention Providers will be among sites participating in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.
People may take unwanted pills or patches to the drop box in the entrance of Doctor’s Orders. No liquids, needles or Sharps will be accepted, according to a news release.
The pharmacy and Region 12 Prevention Providers invite residents to safely dispose of unwanted and expired medicines at the event.
“This year’s National Take-Back Initiative, will give the public yet another opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs,” according to a news release.
Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge recently reminded Arkansans about the national Prescription Drug Take Back Event held at various sites throughout the state on Oct. 27.
The national events are held twice a year, but to find event sites and year-round drop-off locations, visit ARTakeBack.org or www.dea.gov.
