Disturbance call leads to arrest

Police sent to investigate a domestic disturbance July 5 at a residence tracked a man to Jefferson Regional Medical Center, where he was arrested.

Pine Bluff Police Department Detective Steven Rucker reported that Justin Coleman, 31, of Pine Bluff, broke a window at the residence of his ex-girlfriend and entered the home where he got into a fight with a man in the residence.

Coleman reportedly left the residence and was taken to the hospital for treatment of cuts he received when he crawled across broken glass to enter the residence.

During a court hearing Friday, Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $50,000 bond for Coleman after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with criminal mischief and second offense residential burglary.

Coleman said he would hire his own attorney and was told to have no contact with his ex-girlfriend and to come back to court Aug. 17.
