“It’s a great time to shop at Goodwill,” said Leisa Wamsley, VP of donated goods with Goodwill. “Children’s shirts, Polos, pants, khakis, and shorts are priced around $3 per item. Basically, for $30, a mom can buy a top and a bottom for every day of the week.” At most malls, $30 would probably buy one outfit, or one pair of pants. In addition to finding good deals on clothes, Goodwill carries shoes, backpacks and other essential items for the classroom. And the savings continue, because Goodwill purchases are tax-free – a nice bonus every day of the year.
Besides saving money, when parents and family members choose Goodwill for their back to school shopping destination, they are also helping people with disabilities and other barriers get jobs. Goodwill customers are also taking care of the planet by purchasing items that were donated and giving them a second life. This school year, support a local organization that puts people to work.
