Electrical outlets available for tailgating at UAM
MONTICELLO — A new feature is available this year for Arkansas-Monticello football tailgaters.
Eight electrical outlets are available through out the tailgating area along the east side of Weevil Pond. The cost for each outlet for the entire season is $75.

Warren Junior Auxiliary golf fundraiser Sept. 15
WARREN — A two-man golf scramble fundraiser for the Warren Junior Auxiliary will be held Sept. 15 at Warren Country Club.
Proceeds from the sixth annual golf tournament will help fund the following services for children: Angel Tree, Back-to-School supply drive, activities during Relay for Life, and others. Anyone interested in participating or financially supporting the event is asked to call 870-820-5953 or 820-4569 before Sept. 15.

Report: Lady Lions sign Thompson
ROCKFORD, Ill. — The Arkansas-Pine Bluff women’s basketball team landed a recruit from an Illinois junior college, a Rockford TV station reported.
Marion Thompson, a first-team NJCAA All-American selection for national champion Rock Valley College, signed with the Lady Lions according to WREX-TV. She also was named to the NJCAA all-tournament, all-region and all-conference teams as a sophomore, averaging 12.9 points and 12.6 rebounds per game. She was second on the team in blocked shots with 45.
Arkansas State blanks UAPB in women’s soccer
JONESBORO — Arkansas-Pine Bluff fell to 0-2 on the young women’s soccer season as it suffered its second straight shutout loss, 6-0 to Arkansas State on Sunday.
Arkansas State (1-1) got goals from Jena Kelly, Ashley McMurtry, Christina Fink, Loren Mitchell, Christina Giles and Aja Aguirre.
UAPB did not attempt a shot on goal in the first half, but Amanda Lee made two saves for A-State.
UAPB will host Western Illinois on Friday and Louisiana-Monroe on Sunday, both games starting at 4 p.m. ULM coach Roberto Mazza will face his old team, which he guided to two SWAC championships.

A behind-the-scenes look at the University of Arkansas football team will debut Aug. 29 on the CBS Sports Network.
“College Football Confidential: Arkansas” includes seven episodes and is complemented by all-access online content now available at CBSSports.com/collegefootballconfidential.
Athletic director Jeff Long, head coach John L. Smith and players Tyler Wilson and Knile Davis are featured in the show.
