Free physicals for Watson Chapel Junior High athletes will be held at 8:30 a.m. July 31.
Boys will report to the junior high gymnasium. Girls will report to the high school gymnasium. All athletes must have a physical before they are allowed to participate in any sport.

Americans distance from Spain in tune-up
BARCELONA — Carmelo Anthony scored 23 of his 27 points in the first half, leading the U.S. men’s basketball team to a 100-78 win over Spain on Tuesday in an exhibition before the Olympic Games.
The game was a rematch of the 2008 gold-medal game won by the U.S.
LeBron James scored 25 and Kevin Durant had 13 for the U.S. Spain was led by Pau Gasol with 19 and Serge Ibaka with 16. Ibaka was born in Congo but became a Spanish national last year.
Angela Bryant chooses non-prosecution for Dez
IRVING, Texas — According to a statement read by her attorney in a Tuesday press conference, the mother of Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant chose to file an affidavit of non-prosecution with DeSoto, Texas, police after speaking with those who witnessed an alleged domestic violence incident that led to the arrest of her son.
DallasCowboys.com reported the district attorney’s office can still pursue legal action against Dez Bryant, but will consider Angela Bryant’s wishes into consideration before proceeding.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is weighing whether to punish Bryant for his run-in with the law. Bryant turned himself in to police on July 16, two days after Angela Bryant told police Dez tore her shirt, pulled her hair and slapped her in the face with his ballcap.
Dallas starts training camp Monday in Oxnard, Calif.
Steelers extend Tomlin through 2016 season
PITTSBURGH — Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin agreed to an extension that will keep him in his position through the 2016 season.
The deal is a three-year extension on his existing one, making his current contract a five-year deal. Tomlin has signed two extensions since being hired in 2007.
He led the 2008 Steelers to a Super Bowl championship over the Arizona Cardinals.
Predators match Flyers’ offer to Weber
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Predators matched the Philadelphia Flyers’ 14-year, $110-million offer sheet to defenseman Shea Weber.
The contract is now the largest in Nashville’s history.
Weber finished with 19 goals and 30 assists last season for the Predators, who reached the semifinals of the NHL Western Conference playoffs.
