DeWitt man wins $1 million prize in Arkansas lottery

LITTLE ROCK — A DeWitt man claimed a $1 million prize with a scratch-off lottery ticket Friday, making him the 53rd player in the state to win a prize of $1 million or more since the lottery launched in 2009, state lottery officials said.

Russell Fisher won the prize with a $1,000,000 Golden Ticket he bought at Conoco One Stop in DeWitt for $20.

Lottery officials said Fisher told them he had a dream two years ago that he won $1 million. He said he and his wife, Patricia, will pay off debts, help their family, donate to their church and put some of the prize money in savings.

All lottery proceeds after prizes and expenses go to fund college scholarships for Arkansas students. Since its launch, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has provided more than $600 million in scholarships to students, $2 billion in prizes to players and $170 million in commissions to lottery retailers.
