The Arkansas Economic Development Council held its quarterly board meeting in Jefferson County on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Economic Development Alliance for Jefferson County planned the visit with AEDC’s staff.

Council members stayed at the TownePlace Suites in White Hall and took tours of Arkansas River Rice and the Pine Bluff Arsenal. The council had dinner at Colonial Steakhouse with Alliance Board Chairs, Jefferson County elected officials and industry leaders.

The council held their board meeting at the Alliance on Thursday before departing home.

“Huge thank you to Relyance Bank and Simmons Bank for co-sponsoring this event,” Alliance Vice President Nancy Lee McNew said in a news release.

The Arkansas Economic Development Council is composed of sixteen (16) members appointed to four-year terms by the governor. These appointments are made with the advice and consent of the Arkansas Senate. At least three members are from each of the four congressional districts, and four members are appointed at large.
