Deputy Christopher Blunt Jr. and Deputy Brandon Harper of the Jefferson County sheriff’s office graduated from the Basic Law Enforcement Training Course on Dec. 12. The ceremony was held at the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in Camden.

This 13-week, 649-hour course is designed to train students in the basic duties of a law enforcement officer who serve in the state of Arkansas. Once completing this course and completing a 1-year probationary period, deputies will be certified law enforcement officers in Arkansas.

“We are proud of Deputy Blunt Jr. and Deputy Harper for their hard work, resilience, and dedication displayed during this training period and look forward to seeing them move forward in their career as a law enforcement officer with the JCSO,” a spokesman said.
