Delta Special School District reunion set

A reunion will be held Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9-10, for everyone who attended the Delta Special School District. Attendees of the Wolfe Project, Tillar, Watson, Desha Central and Delta schools are included.

Also, students who would have attended Delta are now a part of the McGehee School District, according to a news release.

Participants are asked to reunite and sit on the McGehee side at the McGehee vs. Dumas game at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Dumas.

The reunion committee also decided on a gathering from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Shelby and Glory Slater’s yard at Dumas. Finger foods will be served. Participants are also asked to bring enough finger foods and non-alcoholic beverages for their guests and to share.

“Bring your family and friends and let’s have a wonderful family get together because that is what most people remember from attending those schools,” a spokesman said. “We were like family. If you ask former students what was so special about the Delta School District, they would say that there was so much ‘love’ there that we were indeed a family.”
