Delta Sigma Theta slates Distinguished Gentlemen Banquet

The Pine Bluff Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will host its 32nd Annual Delta Distinguished Gentlemen Banquet at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.

The sorority will present 29 outstanding young men at the event, according to a news release.

The theme will be “Delta Sigma Theta: Community Servants…Preparing Young Men for Royal Servanthood.”

The keynote speaker will be Kenneth Avery of Pine Bluff, the 2014 Mr. Distinguished Gentlemen.

“The Distinguished Gentlemen program follows the principles of the Sorority’s national initiative called EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence) and empowers young men to reach their highest educational, social, and emotional potential,” according to the news release. “The gentlemen participated in a variety of events and public service activities during the 2018-2019 year that will culminate in the formal banquet.”

Tickets for the event are $40 and can be purchased through Feb. 9.

The event tri-chairs are Ora Reynolds, LaDonna Hall, and Phyllis Cage. Nicolette Laurent, chapter president.
