The Arkansas Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts (ACNMWA) is taking applications for its curated online registry of Arkansas women artists, according to a news release. The deadline to apply is Dec. 31.
“For visitors to the ACNMWA website, the registry is a great place to view some of the outstanding work being created by women artists in the state,” according to the release. “For selected artists, it is an opportunity to showcase their work and receive additional recognition for their contribution to the arts in the state.”
Female artists who are native Arkansans, residents of Arkansas at the time of application, or included in the most recent Arkansas Women to Watch Exhibition hosted by the ACNMWA, are invited to submit their application on the organization’s website at http://acnmwa.org/artist-registry/.
The biennial registry will be hosted on the ACNWMA’s website from February 2019 – January 2021. Courtney Taylor, curator for the Louisiana State University Museum of Art, will serve as the juror for the 2019-2021 registry. Taylor holds a M.A. in Museum Studies from the University of Tulsa. She served as guest curator for the ACNMWA’s Arkansas Women to Watch 2016: Organic Matters traveling exhibition.
