Crayola taps Pine Bluff teacher

A Pine Bluff elementary teacher has won a Creative Teacher’s Lounge Makeover and Crayola art supplies valued at up to $7,000.

Melanie Madkin, a first grade teacher at Friendship Aspire Academy Downtown, will participate in Crayola Creativity Week, which celebrates student creativity and learning Jan. 22.-28, according to an email she received from Crayola. She is one of 12 educators selected at random for the prizes.

According to Crayola, Madkin will receive a $1,000 gift card and labor costs of local Walmart volunteers performing the makeovers. Crayola and Walmart will also identify a select number of vendors to donate products and teacher lounge furniture valued at up to $5,000. Madkin also will receive art tools valued at $1,000.
