The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Hamburger Cookout and Cowboy Up for Cancer Trail Ride will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at the Norton Deer Camp at Woodlawn.
Featuring the Hackett Famly Gospel Group, the event is open to all ages. Everyone is invited to enjoy the outdoors while eating lunch and listening to gospel music, a spokesman said in a news release.
Hayrides begin at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. There will also be a children’s activity table and a silent auction.
“The Hackett’s are a very talented gospel group that promotes our Lord and Saviour through their music ministry,” the spokesman said. “This will be their fourth year to entertain for us. You can also enjoy them the second Saturday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Hackett Family Gospel Singing Shed in Dermott, Arkansas.”
Relay for Life is one way of honoring and remembering all who have been effected by cancer, the spokesman said. All the proceeds from this event will go to the American Cancer Society.
The cost for the trail ride, lunch, children’s activity and music is $10 per person. The hayride is an additional $5. Participants must furnish their own horse and have negative coggin papers.
Attendees should bring their lawn chairs. Details: Donald Norton, 870-534-2324; Ruth Ann Norton, 870-718-5134; or Leslie Beatty, 870-489-3627.
