The Pine Bluff City Council will consider several proposed ordinances Monday that would adopt state, national and international inspection and zoning guidelines as the local regulations.
The council will consider five such proposals on what is otherwise a light agenda for the meeting, which will be at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers at the civic complex. The Ordinances and Resolutions and Ways and Means committees will meet at 5 p.m.
The proposals come to the council at the request of the Inspection and Zoning Department and are sponsored by Mayor Carl A. Redus Jr. The various proposed ordinances will replace previous guidelines from years as far back as 2003 and as recent as 2010.
Included in the list of proposed international inspection and zoning guidelines are ones concerning the International Building Code, the National Electrical Code of the National Fire Protection Association, International Residential Code, the Arkansas Mechanical Code and the International Property Maintenance Code.
In other business, the council will consider:
Independent reporting for Pine Bluff & Jefferson County since 1879.
• A proposed resolution that would honor Lee Meadows Sr. for his service to the community by naming a currently unnamed street in Townsend Park as Lee Meadows Sr. Drive.
• A proposed budget adjustment that would move $4,450 in the Street Department budget from the traffic signal revenue line item to the traffic signal line expense line item.
• And a proposed resolution that would condemn a list of 29 structures and add them to the city’s list of properties to be demolished.
