Corps issues small craft advisory on Arkansas River

The Army Corps of Engineers issued a small craft advisory Monday for the Arkansas River from Russellville downstream. Small craft advisories are issued when flows exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second, according to a news release.

Flows at Emmett Sanders Lock and Dam at Pine Bluff are about 55,000 c.f.s. and rising. Flows at Dardanelle Lock and Dam at Russellville are about 85,000 c.f.s. and cresting. Flows at Murray Lock and Dam at Little Rock are about 55,000 c.f.s. and rising. Flows at Mills Dam at Arkansas Post are about 50,000 c.f.s. and rising.

More rain could push flows higher or cause the advisory to remain in effect longer, according to the release.
