The Southeast Arkansas Cornerstone Coalition will sponsor the first Southeast Arkansas Regional Economic Development Candidates Forum.
The forum will be held May 17 at the Drew Central School’s auditorium in Monticello at the following times:
• 5 p.m. for state house candidates
• 6 p.m. for state senate candidates
• 7 p.m. for U.S. congressional candidates
Independent reporting for Pine Bluff & Jefferson County since 1879.
The coalition has invited all candidates for state representative districts 8, 9 and 11; state senate district 26, and U.S. Congressional districts 1 and 4 to participate.
A panel comprised of one representative from each of the Cornerstone’s five member counties will be responsible for each asking one question on a topic area related to economic development in Southeast Arkansas (such as infrastructure, transportation, broadband, workforce development or business development.)
The event will be broadcast via live streaming by Connect Arkansas, a broadband connectivity and advocacy project of the Arkansas Capital Corp. Group, on their websites connect-arkansas.org or livestream.com/connectartv.
