Consolidated St. Marion youth set anti-bullying event

The Consolidated St. Marion Baptist District Association Young People’s Department will host anti-bullying strategies for district youth from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at Indiana Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1114 S. Indiana St.

The event is in collaboration with Interested Citizens for Voter Registration Inc., Arkansas’ Lead Pen or Pencil Affiliate with the National Alliance of Faith and Justice.

“CSMBDA realizes bullying touches youngsters within our district churches and we are committed to providing tools to help our young boys and girls cope with a growing and serious problem,” the Rev. Larry C. Battles, district moderator, said in a news release.

Anti-bullying topics will include how to start an anti-bullying campaign at their school, conflict resolution strategies, types of bullying behaviors, how to report bullying, and a group discussion entitled, “There’s Always A Way Out.”
