Community invited to osteoporosis update

Jefferson Regional Medical Center will host an osteoporosis update for the community to learn more about bone health.

This program will take place Thursday at the Henslee Conference Center in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Free bone density screenings will be available beginning at 11:30 a.m. and the presentation will begin at noon. This event is free to the community.

The speaker will be Theresa Horton, director of Education at South Central Center on Aging in Pine Bluff. She will provide a comprehensive overview of osteoporosis including the impact of osteoporosis, the causes of osteoporosis and how osteoporosis affects an individual. Participants will also learn the risk factors for osteoporosis.
