Members of Arkansas Community Organizations, a community organization of low-income and working families, announced endorsements for the following races in the primary election May 22:
• Senate District 25 – Stephanie Flowers
• Jefferson County Judge – Alfred Carroll
• Justice of the Peace, District 13 – Edward Spears
• Justice of the Peace, District 2 – H.O. Gray

“We believe that these candidates will best represent the interests of working families in Jefferson County,” said Maxine Nelson, state president of ACO, formerly ACORN.
The organization questioned candidates about a living wage policy for the county and a county economic development policy that brings living wage jobs to Jefferson County residents.
State candidates were questioned about their positions on raising the state’s minimum wage, protecting Medicaid benefits, implementing the Affordable Care Act and support for the Campaign Finance and Lobbying Act of 2012.
