Women’s Connection to host luncheon
The Christian Women’s Connection invites the community to its luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Pine Bluff Country Club.
The speaker will be Veronica Anatolie of Edmond, Okla., who will discuss “From Control to Freedom,” according to a news release.
Also featured will be David Moon, minister of music at Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.
“Veronica Anatolie has lived life under national Communism, lies and false understanding,” according to the release. “Come and hear how her exemplary identity in academics and performance brought her to freedom under democracy, and to the ultimate freedom and truth anyone can receive.”

Ivy Center plans events
The Ivy Center for Education planned activities through September.
Sept. 12 – ACT Boot Camp will be held on Zoom only from 6-8 p.m. Charity Smith-Allen and team from Fetterman & Associates will be the facilitators. Seventh-12th graders are encouraged to attend. Sept. 17 — Ivy Center students will meet state Sen. Stephanie Flowers from 6-8 p.m. at 217 S. Main St. Seventh-12th graders are encouraged to attend the in person event. Parents are always welcome.
Sept. 24 — Ivy Center Future Aviation Engineers will meet from 6-7 p.m. at the Generator, 435 S. Main St., with Sederick Rice, a professor at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Interested seventh to 12th graders are encouraged to attend. Parents are always welcome. Those who cannot attend in person may join on Zoom with Meeting ID: 856 8296 4187 and Passcode: 351061.

Chamber slates fundraiser
The Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce will host the Pot O’ Gold Fundraiser and participants may win $2,500 cash, according to the Chamber’s newsletter.
The Pot O’ Gold Draw Down will be held at the 72nd annual Farmers Appreciation Fish Friday from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 24 at Hestand Stadium.
Only 100 tickets are available for $50 each. The fundraiser will draw down to three finalists and winners don’t have to be present to win.

Ag Law Center launches survey
The National Agricultural Law Center has launched an online stakeholder survey to help shape how it serves the nation’s agricultural community.
The 15-question survey has multiple choice and open-answer response questions and takes less than 10 minutes to complete, according to a news release.
The anonymous survey is available at https://uaex.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bBhjrbL2WexBu5g and will remain open until Oct. 16.
The survey is open to anyone who has an interest in agricultural and environmental law and policy, including farmers, advocates, students, lawmakers, analysts and journalists.
NALC will use the survey results to prioritize topics, determine preferred methods of information delivery and basic demographic information.
NALC attorneys interact daily with stakeholders from across the U.S. Recent years have seen an increase in initiatives from the NALC, including efforts to grow stakeholders in new areas of the country and develop resources pertinent to those regions. NALC resources are housed online at the NALC website, and include “Reading Rooms,” factsheets, newsletters, recorded webinars and more.
NALC serves as the nation’s leading source of agricultural and food law research and information. The NALC works with producers, state and federal policymakers, Congressional staffers, attorneys, land grant universities, and many others to provide objective, nonpartisan agricultural and food law research and information to the nation’s agricultural community.
